Blood and Skin

We all bleed the same color
and see out of the same eyes.
Our noses smell the same way,
and we all hear the same lies.

But our choices are not the same.
Our voices are not the same.

Our chances are not the same.
Our stances are not the same.

Our paths were lit by different lights;
our dreams shaped different nights.

Can we trade shoes?
Who will refuse?
Charity or perspective,
what’s your collective?

Do you see
between we
you versus me?
